Educational Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following qualifications to apply:
- A Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
- A professional teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
- Integrated qualifications like B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed., or a three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. program are also accepted.
- No prior teaching experience is required, offering opportunities for both fresh graduates and experienced candidates.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for PGT applicants is 30 years, with relaxations as follows:
- Government Employees: Up to 5 years.
- Contractual Employees in the Same Department: Relaxation equivalent to service duration (maximum 5 years).

The selection will be based on a One-Tier Examination consisting of two sections:
- Section I (100 marks): Covers General Awareness, Mental Ability, Reasoning, English, Hindi, and Numerical Aptitude.
- Section II (200 marks): Focuses on subject knowledge and teaching skills.
The exam will be bilingual (Hindi and English) except for language-specific sections. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied for each wrong answer. The final selection will be based on the total score, with category-specific passing marks considered.
